Giveaway...Butterfly tutorial... and how I use a ladder

is having a great Christmas swap!! Everyone should go over and check it out!!

Here is my first tutorial...

hopefully this makes it easier

paint butterflies!!

first of all here is my inspiration for monarchs!!

My magnet I keep on a metal wall sconce.

second, I sketch out the size and shape of my butterfly...

the next part is to paint the body of the butterfly...

Here is when I start choosing the colors for my butterfly...

I mix them till I get the color I like... in this case I used red.. yellow... and white.

Each part of the wing is painted a different shade of orange.

The next step is to take a fine brush... I use a scripto brush..

Start making my black lines to fill in around the outside of the wings

I start coloring in the black lines with a 1/8 inch brush.
draw the lines of the wings with scripto brush...
to look like the butterfly

Start making the dots on the bold outside of wings...

AND VOILA!!
You have your butterfly

and then this is how they look all finished :D

My next tutorial will be a how to on...
lettering your words...
how to hold your brush...pen...
and write!!!

Now for how I use a ladder...
Do I climb one???
NO!! I would fall off!!
So I use them to hold all of my pots!!
MUCH PRETTIER!!!
Hubby don't like them... he has to mow around them

Smile!!
Have a wonderful day!!

Daughters Give-a-way... Mistreatment Club.... AND Fat Friday...

First of all, my daughter is having her first GIVE-A-WAY
Scoti has a pic on her blog of all the goodies.
so if you would like to add your name to the drawing please feel free

Second, I am including my curtains, or should I say Mistreatments...
The Nesting place is having a Mistreatment club show and tell... so here
are mine:

My living room one and the doorway to our bedroom curtains:
these are table cloths.. cut in half for three windows, and stapled
to a one by two, and hung at the top of the windows with L brackets...
and then I used straight pins and put the fringe of the top of the staples...
for the bedroom doorway... i used a tension curtain rod in the doorway...
and folded the table cloth in half and hung it over, used ribbon to tie it
back and voila!!! Curtain valances... I should say...not curtains.

My kitchen valance... just a board with material stapled to it...
then placed under the curved cuts of the cabinet above... and once again L brackets!

This is my batroom mistreatment, just a 4 yard piece
of material, I used the clips to hold in place a bunched
up pieces of material, and some more ribbon, and viola!

Here are the ones for the window. same idea... and that be all she
wrote on my mistreatments!! Hope you enjoyed the show...

Next, as everyone knows it is Fat Friday...
I don't believe I will be doing much running this weekend...
So I am planning on doing alot of project working...
and cooking.
To go along with that here is my recipe for the day...
It is for... Cinnnamon Rolls (They are really good ones!! I love to
bake them... and the icing is melt in your mouth!!)

Cinnamon Rolls
Preheat ove to 350 degrees:
1 tsp. sugar
2 pkgs yeast
1/4 cup warm water

Mix all of this together let set until good a bubbly!
I let is set for about 10 -15 minutes.
Then add
3 eggs
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups warm water
2/3 cup oil
mix well.

Add 7-8 cups flour, adding one cup at time.

Turn out onto counter lightly floured; Knead for about 5 minutes
will be slightly sticky still. Roll out onto counter with rolling pin.
Roll to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Melt 1/2 cup butter or margerine,
spread over your dough.
Mix these ingredients well;
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
Sprinkle over butter with this mixture, kind of heavy.

Starting on the long side, roll carefully. Using sharp knife, cut the into
1 inch thick slices. Place each slice on greased cookie sheet, or jelly roll pan.
(I leave a bout 2 inches between each roll.) Place in oven and let bake
350 degrees for 30 minutes. They should rise without any problem in
the oven as they bake.
Glaze them with this while still hot;
2 cup powered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup orange juice
Mix well, drizzle over cinnamon rolls. And ENJOY!!!
They are great for breakfast... you get your bread, along with
your orange juice too!! :D We don't count the calories thou ;)

Well here it is put together... it took about 1 1/2 hours to get it all to go together... once I finally found all of my screws... (don't say it... I know I lost them again!!! or still can't find them??)

I can't believe how easy it is once my brain kicks in and comes up with the ideas for how they should go together!!!

all of these different colors... makes my head hurt!! lololol

and here it is with a coat of primer on it...
I hope it will be really cute when finished!!

I am thinking of making it a reading bench.. it would be really cute for that... at least I think so...

(If you do look really close... at the very bottom of the bench you will see what I used to do the monarch butterfly... on of my magnets!!) Go figure ;-)
And here is what the whole bench looks like!!! O THIS ON IS MY FAVORITE!!! Since I have painted the butterfles on it... you wouldn't believe all the butterflies that we have seen!!!

Back to work on my t2t and not to forget my flowers too

Sorry my pics don't want to load right... so I will include them later... Please forgive me!!
I am going to have to start loading them first... then write what I want to say... that way everything is like it should be. lol ;-)

Time to get back to work.... I can only fool around so long lol. I had my nephew for the last three days... His last three before school starts!!! He had a blast... Got to work in the yard... (use the RIDING mower... and play the kittens. We got four new ones yesterday from the grandkids house... They just got weened... and the kittens have started laying in the street... Scoti is afraid they will get run over... and kids... they just want them to come to Na`Na` house so they can see them lol

and I found 4 babies that one of our mommy cats had!!! In the rain!!! Go figure...so they are up on the porch... out of the weather... and mommy cat... Ebony... is loving it!!! The cats aren't allowed on the porch any other time!!! (I can't stand to trip over them when I walk out the door)

As some of you remember I did my latest bench for the county fair. I didn't get the saying I SO wanted to put on... well as of today... I got the saying written on it.... just waiting for it to dry really good so I can paint the butterflies on it :D Well, here are a couple of pics of the saying!!!

I will take more after I get the butterflies on... hopfully later today... but ......
Here is a full pic to refresh memories ;-)

Here is the table that I am working on for the Breast Cancer awareness!! It has a tiny drawer in on side... and a lovely table top. I was the blond furniture type... with gold trim... I painted it all with a coat of green... then spray painted the pink on top of all it... including the gold trim metal pieces on legs. Now I want to use wax on the edges... and some of the top for wear... and then paint it all another color... and sand it down.

I am just not sure whether to paint the top coat as white... or black... and whether or not to paint some flowers (pink of course) on top... Let me know what you think!!! PLEASE??? I need some help here...
Sorry... I have the box I keep my paint brushes in on top.

Here are also some pics of my latest flowers blooming... yayyyyy!!
Morning Glories.... Naked Ladies...(some call them resertion lilies)... and my newest addition... Angel Trumpet bushes... it had its very first bloom yesterday!! And it was still open at 10 am!!!!! Somebody needs to tell it that is should be sleeping by that time of the morning... since it is a night blooming!!! I hope to get some pics of it tonite with lots of blooms open!!!
