I've been tagged! :D

I've been tagged by Cathy Jean at
http://auntdaisyscottage.blogspot.com/
of Home Sweet Home, Noble. So now to follow
the way of things...
First you should go check her out if you haven't
already. She is such a sweet lady!! :D

Now, for the rules... as follows...

Rule #1 ~ Link to the person that tagged you.
Rule #2 ~ Post the rules on your Blog.
Rule #3 ~ Write 6 random things about yourself.
Rule #4 ~ Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
Rule #5 ~ Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their Blog. Rule #6 ~ Let the tagger know your entry is up.

#1. I love to read blogs!!! I know... no kidding... as everyone can tell.
Just look at my sidebar and all of them listed! I could spent a total
24 hours doing so. (Minus the time needed to get sustenance....
and visiting the Powder Room.) lol I have made soooooo many new friends
because of this!! And who doesn't love having friends?

#2. I enjoy cooking for a big group. Just don't get much chance to
do this anymore. Our children grew up... we don't have their friends
trekking in anymore. My hubby had a heart attack last year in July...
so all I get to cook now is healthy foods... (which don't get me wrong is good,
but I LOVE to cook the comfort foods!!) So I only get to cook this when it
is the holidays.

#3. I could spend a whole day doing nothing but sitting in a my rocking
chair, reading a good book. I love a good book!!! And it could be anything
from a good fiction, to a romance novel, to a how to {if it has pictures ;-)} lol

#4. I really should have had this one as number 1, but my brain ain't very quick
today... I love to spend time with my hubby, he is soo sweet, (even thou he doesn't
like to mentioned much) he is always thinking of ways to surprise me! (one example,
doesn't tell me when he is taking days off work) Sometimes this is like all things, good
and others it can be a pain. BUT God did give a wonderful one to charish!!!
(THANK YOU!) I love to also spend time with my children, and grandchildren,
which I sure everyone can tell by reading the rest of my blog lol.

#5. My favorite food is....... oh how I am having fun right this moment trying to
decide on just one!! So I would have to say I have more than one! Chocolate...
Ice cream... potato chips... Cinnamon rolls... and of course COOKIES of any sort!
(Best ones are... Grandma Fisher's Oatmeal Cookies... andGrandma Lydia's
Peppernut Cookies!!) The peppernuts recipe I will give you later... maybe.
I have to check with my mother in law to see if it is okay to give it out!!
(It was her hubby's mothers recipe... Some of them they don't give out...
so if I want to stay in the family... I had better check!!) But I am hoping to
share it anyway.

#6. Last but not least.... my house is never completely a finished
work. It is always under new remodeling or redecorating!! I must
have ADD or ADHD... I can't stand to have things stay the same
forever. I only seem to be happy when changing something about
my house... whether it be just painting... redo the wall art... or
making a new slip cover for the couch.... changing the top cover on
the beds... making different curtains for rooms... or just taking it
apart and putting it back together again!! (My children and husband
told me a long time ago... "We don't come into a dark room and just
sit.... We WILL be sitting on the floor, or a table, anything but the
chair that was there this morning!!!")

I hope everyone enjoys reading the ramblings of this nut ;D
And yes Cathy Jean, this is Hard work to think of 6 things
to tell everyone. lol. But I did it!! :D

And now for passing it on....

1. Scoti at http://redcinnamonprims.blogspot.com/

2. Monica S. at http://monicas-english-version.blogspot.com/

3. Pam at http://basketsnprims.blogspot.com/

4. Cinde at http://cindeesgarden.blogspot.com/

5. Jill at http://athomeinthecountryjill.blogspot.com/

and last but not least!!
6. Lea at http://farmhouseblessings.blogspot.com/

it really is hard to pick JUST six!!
I want to know more about everyone!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderfully blessed day!!!
I am off to a family nite at Taryn's school... I am working
so Scoti can enjoy it with the kids!! :D

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!

Wedding bench pics

Here is a couple of photos of my bench I made for our neighbors daughter, she was wed last Saturday to her lovely husband. Anyway... I promised pics...
This was her wedding gift for our house to hers!

I had to cut each side with a hand saw to get them to fit snuggly.
(Boy, I had no idea how satisfing this could be... :D)
I found out from her family that this is her favorite saying...
So, it was meant to be!
The bench has storage under the seat!!
The cushion has a brown material
with daisies on it...
and the words to the Daisy crazy song!!
saying that I love you daisy...
Kinda a given for a wedding huh?
I hope you all having a wonderfully blessed day!!

Happy Veteran's Day!!! MY THANKS!! and some giveaway info!!!

First of all I would like to take this time so say "THANK YOU!!" to all our country's veteran!!
We owe you soooooo much for the freedoms that we sometimes take for granted!!! I went to a Veteran's day celebration today at Taryn's school... SCC... and it was soooo great to see the youngsters of our community taking the time to learn about what the veteran of the country has done for them... and the celebration that they took the time to do was sooo great!! Taryn's school sang songs... the high school students put together a program to say their thanks!!! I took a video for Papa to see... he couldn't get off work. (He is a veteran, of the Vietnam conflict) and Taryn had invited him... so he gets to view the video of her singing (and the rest of the grade school) "Remember" . It was very touching!! My dad was a veteran of the Korean war. Dad has been gone now for 30 years this last March. So it means a lot to me to see them celebrating all the armed forces!!! My brother was in the Army too. My step dad was in the Army also. SO you can see how dear this celebration was to me!! When they honored the fallen soldiers... I CRIED TOO!!! That was such a touching tribute!!!! So when you see a veteran... don't forget to tell them "THANK YOU" too. :D

Taryn has had a rough five days now....(She almost missed the celebration at school today... She is suffering with hives...) The dear sweet little one has them on the inside! She just gets all jumpy and starts crying!!! I can't imagine not being able to itch them!!! And being little... well just not FAIR!! Scoti is trying to find out what she is allergic too... but it is a slow process. We have started with the laundry soap... and the soap at school (hand washing). I just hope for her sake that we can figure it out soon!!! Scoti called doc again today... (Taryn went to docs on Monday... that is when we found out about them... and is taking benedryl for the itching effect. But the benedryl doesn't seem to be working very good.) Her teacher called Scoti... to come give her some more medicine... but because of day care... Scoti couldn't take all the kids... so she called me. And I took her medicine. She was having a rough time of it... but went to music class. I came home to get my camera for the program.... got back to school... and she was still itching!!! Her teacher said she was leaning against the wall... sliding up and down... trying to itch herself!!! We took her home to mom... (the whole time... Taryn was crying that she wanted to sing!!) When Scoti talked to doc... they can't see her again until tomorrow. Scoti called ER... the ER nurse told her she would just have to wait to see the doc tomorrow. I don't like that idea... neither does Scoti... but what can you do??? I am hoping the doc gives her some Steroids tomorrow!!! She shouldn't have to live like that!!! (My youngest had hives, she started at 6 mos. and didn't stop til she was 19!!! I know it is no fun to have a child in pain!!) I hope Taryn gets to where she is better!!! I will post more as we find out.

I would love to post some pics of what I am working on tomorrow... but it is a wedding gift... so it will have to wait until after the wedding is over!!! I will post some then!!

Here is a give away from Susan at http://primandproperfolks.blogspot.com/2008/11/happy-holiday-giveaway.html zip on over and enter for this really adorable snowman!!!

A gift made for my Christmans Stocking for my swap partner :D She got it so I can post! And kitchen help???

Here is the project I have been dieing to share -
My Christmas Stocking Swap Partner got
her stocking in the mail on Monday...
so now I can share what I made for her!!
My first painting project for her
was this rooster!!
And can I tell you this is my first attempt
at painting a ROOSTER!!
I didn't think I could do it...
BUT I DID!!! :D
I spray painted the background BLACK lol..
then painted the crackle medium...
let it dry for 4 hours...
(that was 1 am when it was ready
for the coat of white) lol
Did I mention that I have a tendency
to be a night owl??!! lol
Then waited for all of it to dry...
I found a picture of the rooster I liked...
and started drawing the rooster on...
after I was satisfied with the rooster...
he got painted!!
And Voila!! Here he is!!!

Now I had to figure out what I wanted him to say!! :D
This is what won!!

I hope Sue (of The Cotton Patch)
will get many hours of enjoyment!!
And Sue dear... if you would like...
to make him look more primitive...
and sand his edges... go for it!!
I promise it won't hurt my feelings!!! :D
Now a few weeks (or maybe even a month ago)..
I said something about wanting some help
with my kitchen!!!
I would like to know what you would do
with these cabinets!!
And please don't say rip them out :(
I love my cabinets... just wish there were more of them!!

This is the south wall of upper cabinets... when I moved in the refrigerator was below them... but with the refrigerators growing as the do... it is now too tall!!! So I had to move it...
The result is to place some other cabinets below!!

This is them.... I want to paint them... to match whatever I do with the rest of them... but below the cabinets I hung some spice racks (they are meant to stand inside the pantry cabinets... I turned them sideways... put a new strip across the bottom... and I have two of them!!! ) I love it!! I need about two more for all of my spices!! I don't like the yellow peeking through on the wall...

This one is on the west wall upper... and around the window!! I don't know what to do with the valance... I loved it once... but thinking about something different now....

Here are the cabinets on the north wall... upper lol. I still love my butterfly!! I had my microwave on the shelf above the stove... but like the refrigerator... it also grew!! So it had to find a new home too... It got moved to the pie safe on the east wall... with frig... and cabinet with bookshelf on bottom... ( These are the ones I painted umbrella black... which are blue... lol... in the post I talked about showing the rest of kitchen lol) Anyway... as you can tell I took off the doors in hopes that it would make me do a better job of being tidy!! LOLOLOLOL!!! But I don't think I want everyone to know what is in my cabinets at a glance... so I kept the doors... but would lke to put punched tin lower upper ones... with glass in the ones way up high!! (maybe I can quit dusting everything!) lol.

see the little door...

that is where I took the dead space cover... and put hinges on it to hold my cutting boards...
and wire racks!!! :D

AND here is the lower cabinet that is on the west and north wall beside the stove... I most definitely HATE the avocado green!! That is still a hold over from the old kitchen 20 years ago... hubby didn't want me to paint the metal cabinet!! But now he is okay with it!! YEAHHHHH!!! I want to put some more punched tin on the two doors on the north wall... and I don't know what to do with the metal cabinet...

So now everyone has seen my kitchen... tell me what you would do???!!!! I really need some help... and ALL IDEAS are WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! So don't be shy... all wall flowers please put your two cents in too!! :D

I would also like to take this time to say THANK YOU to all who come for a visit... I love all of your comments!! I try to get to all of your blogs to let you know... but there doesn't seem to always be enough time in the days!!! So once again... THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderfully blessed day!!! I know I am!! :D

Hey everyone the next post will be # 50!!! I can't wait!!! Don't forget to come back and see what the giveaway will be!!! :D SEE you soon!!

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!
