My trick or treaters!! A Finished project... needs help!! Questions for everyone!!!

For Oct 31st... first of all yesterday... was my grandparents anniversary!!
They were married on that day... in 1935! That way my grandfather
would NEVER forget his anniversary! :D I think of them on that
morning every year!! And how I miss them! They are both gone now...
but I have many GREAT memories with both of them in my life!! AND
I am truely blessed for that too!!!

On this day, now I being the grandparent... have to make some
memories with my grandchildren... so when they are my age...
hopefully their lives will feel like they have been blessed!!
Once again... I know mine has!!!

Here is Taryn as a witch!! She is at school on their annual
parade of costumes!! She is with a little boy that is in her mom's
daycare... his mom is the room mother for this party!!
Don't they look sooooo adorable!!??

Here are my two wonderful grandchildren when they come to Nana's house
Look at that smile!!!

And here are the treats they got from Nana!!

Brock eating his!! Or should I say... licking the icing off!!! :DTaryn eating hers!! :D

Ok all I know I have shown you pics of this project already...I do like it... but I am not happy with it yet!! I want to makeit look more primative!! Do you think if I sanded down the sidesof everything... drawers and doors included...around the handles...(remember there is white paint one coat below... a brown below that...and white again below that... then the wood.) Where the white showed...do you think I could use a faux painting techinque to cover it up???I need some help... anyone and everyone!!!

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!
Remember to Live well, Laugh often,
and to LOVE much!!

I wish I could see a close-up of the paint job. Even when I enlarged the photo, it is hard to see. But let me tell ya, when I painted my fireplace black over the existing white paint, I had to use two coats of black.

One thought here. On the areas where the white is fading through, use some crackle medium then paint it black again, according to the crackle directions. This might make the white show-thru look more like primitive wear.

Good luck with it. I love black pieces.

I love black antiqued furniture. It’s my favorite thing to do now. I just painted a bench that way. All I did was painted it a couple coats of black acrylic craft paint and then painted a coat or two of antiquing gel. I then sprayed the whole thing with a sealer. I loved how it turned out and it looks great without the sanding of the sides etc.
