Going to California!! And got pics back from wedding!

Sometimes all you have to do to set things right
is say those three magic words, "I was wrong."
A new love is very delicate. Handle it with caring!

I would like to apologize for not posting this last week,
as I have been helping Samantha get ready to move
to California! And now I will not be able to post for a few
days...as we are ready to move her out there this week.
I get to go see where my baby will be living!!
We are hauling hers and hubby's stuff out to their new
home. I will take lots of pics and let you know
about our trip! (My first trip west!!!)

I am so tickled we got the pics back from
Samantha's wedding! So without further ado,
here we go...

think so!!) :D :D

my daughter's cake, this is how she sees
the bride getting the groom to the alter!
I hope everyone enjoys the fun of this as
much as I do, and no one takes offense.

What I have done this fine Saturday!! :D

I would like to include everyone in blogland in
my thoughts for the day... they deal with romance!
We all need some more in our lives to make us happy!
So here is the one for today and yesterday...
a double dose if you will! I hope they make you smile,
and remember your loved spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.

My lover softly comes to me at evening
when strands of mauve still tint the western sky.
He breathes Love's perfumed language in my ear
and wakes my soul to passion's purple night. (Friday's)

I can't remember the date or what you wore
or what the weather was like on the day we met.
But the way you said "Hello,"
in a voice that sounded like love,
is something I'll never forget. (Today)

I have been having some fun today!!
I got to do some more painting!!
Here is one of the signs I was talking about the other day..

here is one end with the outhouses...

the other end... I just love outhouses, btw!! :D

I did this one for Samantha, she is going
to take this one to her new home in California!
It is one of the first things she says she will hang!

And this a pic of both signs finished!!
Scoti Jo gets the outhouse one!!
Both of my lovely daughters get a new sign for
their homes! :D

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!

Fat Friday early :D Enjoy!!

Hello All!
Hope your enjoying your day! I have been
spending time with Samantha before she

leaves again for California. Sorry I didn't mean
to dessert.

For this post I thought I would show you my
Christmas present from the family!! I have used
it a couple of times now!! AND IT IS A DREAM!!

This is my beautiful new mixer! It does a wonderful
job of making all kinds of things. All I have to do is

measure, put in, and it does the rest. Then I put
whatever into the pan, and bake!!
What I made on Tuesday for the family
was Chili, Cornbread, and CINNAMON ROLLS!

and this is the recipe I used! Enjoy!!

Cinnamon rolls.
2 pkgs. yeast 2 c. hot milk
3/4 c. sugar 6 c. sifted flour

2 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. butter 4 tsp. cinnamon
Melted butter 1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
1/2 c. raisins (opt.) Orange Powdered sugar icing

Soften yeast in 1/2 c. warm water, with 2 tsp. sugar.
In mixing bowl place 1/4 c. sugar salt, butter and milk
stir until butter is melted. Cool mixture to lukewarm.
Beat in 3 cups of flour; stir in eggs and yeast mixture,
beating well. Add remaining flour, stirring thoroughly.
Dough should be sticky. Let stand for 10 minutes: knead
until smooth and satiny, on floured surface. Place in greased
bowl, turning once; cover. Let rise in warm place until doubled
in bulk. Punch down; divide into halves. Let stand for 10
minutes. Roll out on floured board. Combine cinnamon
and remaining sugar. Spread dough halves with melted butter;
sprinkle with cinnamon mixture, raisins and nuts if
desired. Roll dough jelly roll fashion; cut into 1 inch slices.
Place in greased pan.Let rise until doubled in size.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until
golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
Frost with powdered sugar icing.
Recipe as follows:

Orange Icing.
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
5 tsp. orange juice
1/2 tsp cream tarter
2 tsp. orange rind
Mix all together, pour over hot cinnamon
rolls, and you have breakfast with orange juice
already included.
Enjoy!! btw... this makes about 30 cinnamon rolls.

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!

Just a quick note! :D

Just a quick note I thought I would share with
you a peep at some signs I am going to try to
make this week or next. These pics are from
some wallpaper borders. (I know I am cheating!!) lol

the laundry basket (0f course for the laundry room)

the Clothes washed daily sign.

and two of these, one for Scoti, and one for me.

Another tidbit. Samantha made it home last
nite for a visit. She flew in at 11:30 pm. and we brought
here so she can go through the stuff she has here
and see what all she taking to California!
Her and Ben found a house out there, so now
comes the fun of sorting through stuff, boxing
up, and getting ready to move.
Darling Hubby is talking about us pulling
a trailer behind the dually and going out there
with her, so we can see house, and all that!
I am sooooooo happy! I think it will help me
to know she is safe, and help with her moving
such a great distance! Anyway, not tears, so
it time to leave you for now.
Have a wonderfully blessed day! I know I am! :D

The promised story of how we got 3 four wheel drive vehicles stuck!! lol

As I said yesterday, I would tell you the story of how
Hubby got stuck... and in the meantime we got 3, yes 3
four wheel drive trucks stuck!!! lol. I know, all I could do
that night was laugh about it. It was either that or cry...
So I laughed!! lol

Before I start the story I would like to show you some of the
snow drifts out here by us. But first you should grab
yourself a cup of coffee,
or hot cocoa, which ever you prefer.
Ok, now that you have your cup of warm
beverage to keep you warm during this
cold weather tour.
This first one is just east and
north of our house. The mail lady got stuck here on Wednesday,
thank goodness she wasn't hurt, just stuck.
Yes it really is as high as hubby's truck!!
This next one is on the paved road on the way to town.
I don't ever remember having drifts this high on this road!
I don't know if that means that much snow, or just
ALOT of wind!!! Which I am inclined to believe... WIND!!
this is side of road...
this is the drift,
with hubby's truck parked there so you can see
how high it is.

Now for this story of how we got 3 four wheel drive
trucks stuck!! It starts out with me on the front
porch tossing scraps to cats... look out at the road,
and notice headlights down the road, I figure this is
my hubby coming home. (I have supper cooking on the
stove) I go back in, waiting for him to pull up in drive.
I check dinner, thinking he should be here anytime now.
A few minutes more pass... and still wondering where
he is. (It doesn't take but a minute or so to get from where
I seen headlights to home!) At about 5 minutes after
I see headlights,my cell phone rings, it is the hubby.
He tells me he is stuck in a snow drift.
This snow drift to be exact.
This is the truck,
he got stuck in!!

He asks if I can get the brown truck, (0ld faithful)
out and come down to pull him out. Needless to say,
I said yes! lol. I got the brown truck warmed up,
backed out of parking place. Got to the end of the
driveway... said a prayer, "Dear Lord, don't let me
get stuck trying to get him out, keep us all safe.
Thank you! Amen." I pull out of driveway,
go two trucks lengths, and yep, I got pulled into
a snow drift into the DITCH!! (All the way to bottom
of the ditch I get stuck!!!)

where the tire marks start
at the bottom of the pic, is my driveway.. and you
can see how far I got!!

In this here truck!!
Then we called our neighbor, poor fellow, we were
just bad luck waiting to happen that nite!
He came down to pull hubby out backwards,
did I mention that the WIND was blowing??
Like 20 miles per hour... (maybe not that bad, but
close!!) Anyway, while neighbor is hooking up to hubby,
he gets stuck...
here, in this second indention
in the snow. Well, we were all profoundly stuck, so hubby
suggests we call sheriffs office... they send out officer,
I told dispatcher, if he sees a snow drift... DON'T drive
into it. Well I watch him, driving into the one hubby and
neighbor are stuck in thinking he is going to be number 4!!
We fellow didn't get as far as they did, he started backing up,
turned around and waited. Neighbor had called the
neighbor that runs the grader, he was SO KIND as to
come down and pull out hubby, then neighbor, then to
grade the road so neighbor could get back home, he
turned around, come back graded road to our house,
hooked up to the brown truck, hubby and I traded now!!
lol, And he pulled out the brown truck, hubby drove it into the
drive, I followed with white dually, and neighbor with the
grader was kind enough to grade road the next morning
bright and early so hubby could go back to work.
You have no idea how silly I felt driving out of the
driveway, and then profoundly getting the truck stuck!!
As it turned out, was probably best I got stuck there, as the
road was worse just a ways further down. So the moral to
this story is...
"when hubby gets stuck, call the neighbor with the grader
first!!! stay home where it is warm, finish cooking dinner!!
and have hot coffee or cocoa when he gets home!!!! " ;-)
I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed day!!

I ventured outside today to take those pics and checked
the temp...
believe it or not, this thing
reads 40!!! YES Sunshine!!! :D

Here are some more pics of the snow, this is the rock
pile that some of you may remember back in some
of my first post on my blog... I know, still here!!

If you look real close you might see where
our cats have decided to wait out the snow.

This little overhang here has a bare spot under
the rock, and so they have been hiding in here,
as you can see the trail they have worn.

I have been wanting to share with you a pic
of our towns heritage painted on one of the buildings.
It was done by a local artist. He is quite talented!!
Not only does he paint, he does some wonderful acting too!!

I hope you enjoy it as much I do every time
I get ready to turn at this intersection! :D

And here is one more of my Christmas trees.
This one is in the town park, lots of people,
organizations, businesses, decorated a tree in
our local park. This one is mine. It is decorated
with tulle, (in memory of the weddings!!)
Pepsi bottles painted into snowmen, old
ornies of years gone by, Some stars that we
painted, icicles, and some peacock feathers
for the topper. We put it up the Saturday after
Thanksgiving, and this is how it has weathered!!
There is also the name of my business...
"What's Cook'n In Junk" and some packages under
there... (The packages have rocks in them
to hold them down!) lol

I hope you all enjoyed your visit,
I know I am very glad you came!
Looking forward to seeing you again!

The weather outside is FRIGHTFUL!! (Ohh a christmas song I believe) lol and much more

Let me start this post off with I hope everyone has a
wonderfully blessed day!!
Also don't forget to SMILE... You will get on in return!!!

I know everyone has been saying how cold it is... but
I want to show you on my thermometer out on the
front porch!!
Can you
read this??? It says it is 10 degrees,
and it is 11:00 am!!!! I know it doesn't talk
as my hubby would say, so it would read...
lol, got to love em huh!! I will save him for
another post. But I DO LOVE HIM! :D

Here is our baby that is still at home. She is
an Akita, Australian Shepard mix. Her name
is Noel. And yes she is on a chain. The reason
for this is because we have neighbors that allow
people to trap bobcats, coyotes, raccoons and other
animals. I DON'T want to have one of these men,
catch our sweet lovable baby in one. So for now she
is on a chain. And no she don't come in the house, she
just isn't a house dog, she loves to run, jump, and play.

She is also a wonderful guard dog. Whenever ANYONE,
drives into our drive that doesn't live here...
SHE LETS ME KNOW!!! And no one but my hubby, and
grandson get near her (that are male) without her growling,
she lets all of us female members up to her, and loves on
all of those mentioned. I love her sooo much! The
rest of the year we go on long walks!!! She is beside me
all the way. She is our lovable sweet girl!

I decided I would show you some of the pics of the snow,
I know it isn't much snow here at the house, but I AM
NOT GOING OUT ON THE ROAD!! at this time.
this is what my seating
area right up by the house. The snow here is what
we got day before yesterday to add to what was
already there! IF I go out to get the mail today,
(Yesterday she got stuck north of our house and didn't
come here! lol So no bills!!!! ) I will take a pic of
the snow out there... along with the ruts from
last nite!! I will explain that one tomorrow! ;-)

And I just had to show you my Christmas tree!!
This is the free tree I got on the 400 mile garage
sale this year!! I love it, it is twice the size of
the old one! It looks really good all decorated in
mostly white, but some red. I even hung my
crystals on it. (Sue of The Cotton Patch, will
see her ornies on there from last year!! I love them,
they will be packed away again this year with care,
for use next year!) THANKS SUE!!! :D
And of course my angel that Sam made
me is right in the middle!! :D
