Thoroughly Thrilled Thursday!! I also got BOOed!! :D

Hey all I have been BOOed by
my friend Sue over at
http://sue-thecottonpatch.blogspot.com/
She has a wonderful post today...
it is about an 'Act of Random Kindness!'
She is soo sweet!!
I am going to have to borrow her idea...
and see if I can pass some on too!! :D
Here are the rules:
Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been "B00-ed."
Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to Boo their friends.
Then put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you'vealready been "boo-ed" and to send the picture to someone else.
I know that today is Thursday...
so I decided being as I was Thoroughly Thrilled
with the project I am working on...
that would be my post today!!
I have this table and chairs that
I have been working on...
I got the table base and chairs painted
BLACK of course...
some time ago.
And I have sold them...
to my best friend Ali...
so I figured I should get busy and
get the chair cushions fixed!!
SO here goes...

I took the foam I have...
I managed to get some of the smaller
pieces laid out and cut... to form this
large piece. I glued it together...
and here is my cushion.
I cut the corners so they aren't so
sharp.

here is the base for the seat..

And I used my favorite material...
she isn't sure what she wants yet...
So for now.. she is OK with it.
When she finds what she wants..
I will redo them!! :D

Here is the chair with cushion...

and the edge of the table...

I have two cushions done...
two to go!

Here is a view a little farther
away....

and yet another view!!
I love it!!!
I hope she does too!!
I will let you know...
she will be here to pick it
up tomorrow!!
:D
Well all I should probably go...
I have to get this finished...
go to Taryn's Halloween Parade...
Get some treats ready for her teacher!!
And then at 3:30 this afternoon
I have to make a trip
to Manhattan...
that is Kansas thou!!
(just 3 hours away!)
Samantha's car broke down...
and she wants to come home
to celebrate Halloween with her niece and nephew!!

I Hope Everyone has a WONDERFULLY BLESSED day!!
:D
Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!

Tuesday... Could it be a recipe day??

Don't forget to drop by Kim's of simple needs to enter her 100th post giveaway!!! Congrats again Kim dear!!
http://simple-needs.blogspot.com/ Good luck to all!!!
Good luck to Kim to on another great 100 posts!!!!

I have been wanting to post a couple of recipes... but missing them on Fat Fridays...and today I decided why not!! I honor of our cooler weather here... I am going to post a couple of comfort food recipes today!!

My first one is one of my favorite biscuit ones... you will notice it is what was called an insider recipe...

Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits!!

Dough:

1 1/4 lbs. Bisquick
3 oz. freshly shredded cheddar cheese
11 oz. cold water

Garlic Spread:
1/2 c. melted butter
1 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. salt
1/8 t. onion powder
1/8 t. dried parsley

To cold water, add Bisquick and cheese, blending in a mixing bowl. Mix until dough is firm. Using a small scoop, place the dough on a baking pan lined with baking paper. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. While biscuits bake, combine spread ingredients. Brush baked biscuits with garlic topping while still hot. Serve while still warm.

Second recipe goes really well with the Biscuits...also insider recipe...this recipe is my hubby's favorite!! (Before he had a heart attack!!) Now we have to cook in LOW sodium!! He would fix this recipe (doubled or tripled) every time he had a work covered dish!! He would never bring anything back home...they all loved it as much as he did!!!

Wendy's Chili Makes about 12 servings

1 lb. ground beef
1-14 .5 oz. can tomato sauce
1-14.5 oz can kidney beans (with liquid)
1-14.5 oz can pinto beans (with liquid)
1/2 c. diced onion
1/4 c. diced green chilies
1/4 c. diced celery
2 med. tomatoes, chopped
1 t. cumin powder
2 T. chili powder
2 t. salt
1 t. black pepper
1 c. water

Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain off the fat. Using a fork, crumble the cooked beef into pea-size pieces. In a large pot, combine beef plus all the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2 to 3 hours. ENJOY!!

And you can't have a meal without desert!! So to finish off this session of recipes... here is another insider recipe for desert! And this one is quick... you don't have to slave away all day to make.

Ruby Tuesday Apple Pie

1 (9 inch) frozen deep dish apple pie (double crust or old-fashioned)
1 stick butter
1 c. light brown sugar
3 1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. allspice
1/4 t. ground clove
1 1/2 t. lemon juice
3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
10 T. frozen butter
1 1/3 c. chopped walnuts
Ice cream (optional)

Let pie thaw at room temperature for 30 to 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. IN a small saucepan, melt the stick of butter over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 1/2 t. cinnamon, allspice, cloves and lemon juice. Stir until well blended and sugar is melted, about 3 minutes. Make an X in the center of the top crust of the pie and fold back the crust. Pour the butter mixture evenly into the pie, and then replace the crust. Leave 4 vent holes. sealing the rest of the pastry. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside. Reduce heat to 325 degrees. Grate frozen butter into a medium sized bowl. Toss the grated butter with flour, remaining sugars, remaining cinnamon, and walnuts. Carefully wrap an aluminum foil band around the edge of the pie, creating a lip to hold topping. Sprinkle topping evenly over pie.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes then serve with ice cream if desired.

Now I hope you enjoy this meal as much as we are going to today!! This is hubby's one day a month for a meal that isn't a regular heart smart meal. (This way I can still keep him healthy, but not make him feel he is being punished for his health.) I love his soooooo much I have to keep him around for the next 50 years too! :D

I have all kinds of insider recipes... my hubby's cousin emailed them to me... and we used to use them all the time... but now it is for special occasions or for family functions. I will pass more of them along on Thursday. Tomorrow I am planning on a what's you work'n on Wednesday!!
(I am hoping to show you some progress on my painting projects!) Time will tell if this works thou.)

I am planning a giveaway of my own on my 50th post... so please check back!!! I am hoping it will be later this week... but it is looking like it will be sometime next week. :D I am having a great time try to decide what all will be in this giveaway!! Come back to see! I will display a pic on the 49th post!!

Hope you have a wonderful day all!!! :D

on Sunday next week!!!
Good Luck to everyone!!! :D

I went to post a Fat Friday post... only to find that
my keyboard didn't work!!! :( As a result...
I couldn't put up a post for Friday!!!
Hubby went to Wally world today... and
bought a new one!! And now I am back in business!!
YEAAAAA!!! I was sooooooo happy...
I cleaned the den!!! And I mean really cleaned it!!
I went through old papers... I have some to file in the
morning... went through the bills... only to upset hubby's
filing system. (How was I to know that what he had
stacked up... was what he had went through.
(Last month... what was stacked... was what was
waiting to be gone throu!!) So I am in his doghouse now!!:(
I found a new cabinet to put my puter monitor... printer...
and papers.... and the discs for the puter into.
(Would you believe I found it for free??? It was along
side the street... getting thrown away!!! and of all ...
reasons... BECAUSE the bottom piece got broke...
so they couple was throwing away the rest too!!
Lucky me!!!) I have some tweaking to do in the
morning... but I am sure that I will love it when I am
done!! I will post some pics
tomorrow of the finished
product! (I am to embarrassed
to show pics of the
before!!! SORRY ALL!!)

Here is a table that I want to
paint black... I have one
half on my front porch...
as you can see... and the other
half is my desk by the
front door! Does anyone know
anything about this style
of table??? Would I be messing
up something really worth lots???
to paint it black????
HELP??? Let me know
what you think??!!! Please?!

Now for a table that is in my front
yard... we sit and have our morning
coffee... water... tea... or whatever!!
And in the afternoon... while the
sun shines... I have a break...
just to soak up some wonderful
rays while they last!!!
For a while yet... it has a table
cloth... and candler on it.
This pic was taken this spring...
sorry all. I like it better with
the tablecloth... looks dresser!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!
And may you all be as blessed as I am!!

Whatcha work'n on Wednesday??!!

Hello everyone!!
I am posting some pics of what I did yesterday to
start this off!! I went to Scoti's and Taryn's Daisy
meeting... (Scoti is Taryn's troop leader)
Scoti had asked if I would go to teach them
how to make a spider...
so we did... here is
how it turned out!
"Spiders o me o my!!"

After doing that I came home and started
cleaning out my sewing closet...
going throu all the material... and
projects piled onto of the sewing
machine!! (what a mess!!)
Now I can show you a pic of what it looks like!!
I made the curtains for it to hide it when
I have company staying...
And to keep the Grands out...
I used some shutters I picked
up at the flea market...
and a hook and eye to keep
it closed!!! My chair folds
up... and fits behind the right
side door. All put away!!
The light in there I found at
another flea market...
it wiring was burnt...
I took it all apart... and
put new wiring in and
now I have this wonderful
light!!! :D

I hope your Wednesday has been as productive
as mine has been today!! To start my day, I had
to set off some flea bombs!!! And I am praying that
gets rid of them... and poor kitty had to go outside...
prementally. :( But maybe that will help!! While they
were doing their job...I went to Topeka...
to HOBBY LOBBY!! and MICHEALS!!! boy was that
fun!! Ali and I went... we both bought some craft
paints... some books on what to paint... and I
bought the last thing for My stocking swap
partner... SUE!!! I found it on sale!!! I hope she
really likes it!! Got home at 3:00 pm.
Then I came home aired out the house
cleaned all the dishes!!! (Open cabinet’s lol)
Then started some laundry... redone... yuck! lol
Mopped the floors, and vacuumed the carpets!!
Was done with all of this by 5:45 pm.
(What are the odds??) And then I sit
down for a short break... and a drink
of water!! I decided I had some dish
towels that I had cut out... so I
started ironing the hems in...
and while waiting for "Private Practice"
to start... I would sew them up quickly.
I got about six of them done...
and eight more to do!!
Don't these just warm your heart??
They all have different things painted
on them according to each person
they go to. Can anyone guess who
this one belongs too??
And now I am posting my day :D
I hope your Wednesday has been as productive
as mine has been today!! Hope you all have a
wonderful day tomorrow too!!
May you all be as blessed as I feel
right this very minute!! :D

it done NOW!! (one of my many
character faults... I AM IMPATIENT!!!)

Need your opinions PLEASE!!!

I need some advice... as my mind is not sure what to do!!
The advice I am asking for is way of your opinions of what would
look better?? I am trying to paint
some of my furniture to look more primitive...
I like the black color... but should I use my
sandpaper and rough it up??
Sand off the edges?? Beat it up???
(It is already slightly well used!!!)
This is my dresser and shelves turned
hutch... I do like it... just didn't like it in
white! What would you do??? HELP???

The drawers are on the floor getting painted
also... All of your help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!!

My second thought is should I paint the drawer pulls???
I do like them... not sure why... but I do.
They are actually kind of a black
color... not so bright as the pic would
make it seem. But should I brighten
them with a coat of paint? Should I
darken them??? What exactly???

I would really appreciate all the
advice any and all of you offer!!!

I hope you all feel free to offer your advice!! I would love to hear
from everyone!!! Thank you all for your help in advance! I can't
say enough how kind everyone in blogsville has been to me!! I
feel like we are some of the very best friends!! Thank you!!!! :D

As for Sunday... we, (my nephew, Samantha, hubby, and myself)
did get Samantha's stuff moved from the third floor of her
apartment... to the trailer ( yes, we did wash it out!!! ;-) used
most days for the cattle lol) back to New Strawn... and into the
storage unit!!! Everyone is kind sore today... and my nephew
(who is only 10) did tell us yesterday... that he "would never
volunteer to help someone move again!! How can one person
have sooooooo much stuff???!!!!!" Poor fellow. I had to give
him a really big hug!! How soon would he learn how much
stuff he will accumulate in his lifetime!!! :D

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!!! I know I am. It has
been quite productive!! And hope that it will continue to be so!!

Well all I need to close get some more stuff done!!
(Laundry for one!!)
Oh I am going to make myself a new sign too, it will be placed in my laundry room. "Laundry today.... Naked tomorrow!!" I think that one is so fitting!! Hope you all have a great day!!

Thank you for stopping by for another visit. I will be looking forward to visiting you all later this evening. :D

Thanks Rondell!! I got it to work! I now have a signature!!!!

I really want to say thank you to Rondell!!! She gave me the site to add my signature to my blog!! I tried like crazy to sign my name... but just looked funny lol. So I went with typing my name, choosing which font, color, slant... and whallaaa!! I love it!! (what is really funny... is, it is almost my real signature!! Thank you Rondell!!!! It is sooo cool!

What else do I post... I have been stalking as others put it... some of my favorites and a lot of the good reads blogs!! Sorry I haven't posted much in the last week. I am planning on getting a lot better at posting everyday!! The only problem with that is... I tend to not get off the puter... just one more blog to read!!! And then the next thing I know, it time for hubby to be home!!! And I have wasted a whole day... lol. (Not really wasted... because I love to see what everyone else is doing too!) So I will try to get better!! (I promise!)

Tomorrow... Hubby, brother, nephew and myself are moving the youngest daughter, Samantha's stuff out of her apartment in Emporia, to a storage unit!!! She has found a fully furnished apartment in Manhattan!! (She has a house full of furniture!!! BUT... I am just mom, so don't ask me!! lol) Whatever makes her happy!! (we will be moving this furniture down THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS!!!) So my back and everyone else's (hers too) will not be liking us come bed time tomorrow nite!! So I doubt there will be a post for Sunday! We will be starting at 7 am. and hopefully done by 1 pm!!!! (I am saying my prayers!)

I would love to be able to figure out how to get this scroll into the end of every post... but still working on that one... maybe on Monday!!

And hopefully by
Monday... this shelf... and the old dresser it sets on
will both be painted black!!
(real black... not blue black!)
So I will have some pics to post of the finished project!!
And maybe it will help the stuff on there stand out more!???
I HOPE!

Two days late... What am I working on Wednesday... oops I mean Friday :)

I will post a Fat Friday later today!!!
I have been a really busy beaver... lol.
I have found a top to an armour along the streets of Burlington. I plan on using it in my den... to hide the computer and printer!!! And other stuff that everyone doesn't need to see upon entry into the den!! I will show you both the before and after pics when done... along with what the top part looks like!

Second... I finished the signs for my autumn... holloween decor. And I would like to say a kind thank you to mysteryhistorymom for her idea on what to do with the other frame... I love it!!
I also included a spider on top of it to bring home the point... ;-)

So cute... grands just love the spiders!!!
And third... I decided to follow some of the prim blogs that I have been reading... and LOVING by the way!!! So in order to copy... well to imitate... them I have spent some time painting on the last few rainy days we have had here... I went to Wal-Mart got some paint... Umbrella Black... to be exact. But... it isn't quite as black as I thought it would be... kinda has a real blue tint to it. It is sorta growing on me thou. Scoti and my mother both like it alot... so I taking their lead... and going to live with it for a few!! Time will tell. I painted my pie safe... and another cabinet that once was a bookshelf. ( Did this a long time ago... needed extra storage in my kitchen... but it needed to be skinny... I enclosed a bookshelf in 1x10's and put on doors... and some trim to cover it all up!!! and whalla!!!) And since then... I put it up on top of another book shelf... for ALL of by cookbooks and now I have the best of both worlds... storage... and extra room in a small kitchen!!

my pie safe... and the two bookshelves
I have been debating on whether or not to paint a pie on my pie safe... or to just leave it as is...
Daughter thinks it looks better as is... I would like to paint the pie... because it will tell all where to find all of my baking supplies!!! Is that silly????
Now I am trying to decide on whether or not to paint the kitchen... cabinets... or what all!! The yellow and black... just don't look right... but I am sad to cover up all of my vines and flowers...
So I will show you some pics of the kitchen later... for a vote on WHAT TO DO????

And then another of my projects were to recover my rocking chair... it was orginally covered in an orange material... that I covered about two years ago in a toile pattern in blue... well I am over the blue color in the livingroom... so I had found some red denim at the "God's Store" in Burlington... and gave them a donation for it ($5.00) and brought it home... and recovered my chair. I love it!!!

to get it to look red... I had to turn the flash off...
otherwise it came out a real fushia color!!!
So please forgive the yellow hue!!

I am almost ready to show you some pics of my Christmas Stocking Swap finished!!! I have to wait until Monday I think to send it!!! Sue... I am soooooooo excited!!! I can't wait for you to get it!!! There is something in there too for Amy!!! It will be on top!! I have had soooooo much fun doing all of this!! And thank you too for some ideas for Christmas presents around here too! ;-)
(I promise they will be different from yours... so yours will be one of a kind ones!!) I will post the pics before I send it, so you will know about when to expect it!!! Hope all is well with you and yours dear!!
I suppose I should close for now... and post more later!!!

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!

and to LOVE much!!

Taryn signing her heart out!!! And proud Na'Na'!!!! :D

I am doing two posts in one day...
or should I say night... ;-)

This weekend was definitely full!! On Friday... we had
the pedal pull... Brock pulled 15 feet and 5 inches...
Taryn pulled 20 feet 2 inches.... and they were both so
happy to have competed!! Then we all, Scoti, Taryn, Brock, Papa, and Na'na' went
the high school football game!!! And we won!!! 34 to 22!!!
Good game too... very exciting one!!
Grands got to play with all of the other kids there...
running around the baseball field!!! :D
Needless to say... when their heads hit the pillow...
they were out!!!

On Saturday... my day started off... needing to paint a sign...
for the front of the float!! I needed to put "Daisy Troop" and there
number on it.... well... I did kinda.... I wrote... Daisy Troup....
but didn't catch it... my daughter did when I delivered the sign!!!
Talk about feeling like..... well an aged grandma!!! (with can't remember
how to spell???????) But as it turned out we didn't need the sign...
Girl Scouts have adopted a lot of new rules... can't throw candy...
need parent permission slips... fire extinguisher on board... just to
name a few. (I can't remember all of the rest...) So the parents
decided to put any kids that wanted to ride on... and they would do
something else for their badge. And boy did the kids have fun!!!

Here are some pics of the float after they got it finished
As you can tell the sign on the front now says
"Join 'r' click" (Get it click it or ticket???)
It took me a second to get what they meant... lol
(Ok so it was a complete BLOND day for me!!!)
Sorry all!!

And here they are
in the homecoming parade!!!
Throwing candy and having fun!!!
Then I went home for a while...
hubby was at my brothers helping him side his house...
We had decided we would go to
homecoming for dinner...
and a little dancing!!!
Wow... it was loads of fun!!
We visited with lots of friends...
after dinner the homecoming committee
auctioned off leftover meat, and beans...
and the pies from the pie contest!!
(no I didn't enter lol)
We bid on a couple of pies...
but the ones that baked them wanted
them more ;-)
Then we visited some more...
and of course we danced the night away!!
It was almost midnight
(6 minutes till)
when we left!!!
it was soooooo nice to spend the evening and night with my hubby!!!
