When did time get away from me?

Our house has been very busy place to be over the last few
months.... We have been getting ready for weddings...
Our oldest daughter Scoti just got married Nov. 7th, 2009.
And our youngest daughter (only have two lol) will be getting
married on Dec. 30, 2009. So I have been making garters,
signs, and many other things too. Here is the sign for her reception...
I will share pics when I get them of the wedding.
She made the most beautiful bride...(I know I am
prejudiced mom lol) her colors were black and
HOT PINK... I just couldn't wrap my mind around
the colors, but they did look very pretty!!

Samantha's were are working on now...
I am going to make her garter,
centerpieces, and wreaths for the 10 foot windows...
for starters.
I know I procrastinate so badly.

I am also taking painting classes
to learn how to paint the wood things.
Here is a sign I just finished for my bathroom.

sorry this one isn't clearer.... this one is my favorite one

And here is the finished sign.
it reads...
Outhouse Rules
Be neat,
Leave it like you want to find it,
Put the lid down,
Leave paper for the next one,
Shut the door so the chickens don't get in.

I also have some new additions for the walls..

I just love this piece of an old piano...
along with my sign
I forgot how to spell...lol.
and then is is a new spot too.

sign reads...
I made a wish and you came true,
the picture is of our granddaughter the day she was born,
I am handing her to her proud papa!!
A memory I will cherish forever!!
I just wish I had one like this of our grandson too!!!

I had better close for now, will add more to the next post.
I have been thinking we are all thankful for something,
please feel free to share with me yours.
You can tell of my many things to be thankful for,
is my family and friends!!
Thank you all.

Oh My, So Much Has Happened This Week, & I Can't Wait To Tell You!!!!

Oh My, So Much Has Happened This Week, & I Can't Wait To Tell You!!!!
The very first thing I would like to show you is...
a link to Racheal's Romantic Porch...
http://rachelgoing.blogspot.com/
she had a lovely post on her many jobs...
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It puts a whole
NEW LIGHT on the life of a mom!! ENJOY! :D

I have been a very busy beaver this last week...
to start our week off Samantha took care of the
grandkids, Scoti went to Mo. for the two days for
work... She attended some meetings, and some
meet and greets too. Samantha had Brock and
Taryn at their house trying to get them ready
for the upcoming days of School....
I can't believe that the whole summer is gone
already!!!!
On Wednesday what I was working on
was my flowerbed up around the house!!
I was putting in daylilies, and new potting soil,
then mulch.... I have daylilies growing already!!!
My Chiropractor GAVE me about 4000 bulbs,
of daylilies... so I brought them home, and started
planting them... (I got the bulbs in the beginning of
August...) Been planting little by little...
anyway I finished the bed on Wednesday!! Will show
you pics of that in a later post...
But here is the daylilies already growing!!! :D

I am sooo happy to see them!
They are yellow, a light orange, (almost apricot)
a dark orange, and red!!! Can't wait
to see them bloom next year!!

I have put a new decoration on my front door...
It was a wreath my daughter Samantha made...
with a sign I made... Love Lives Here!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! :D

I went garage saleing this last Friday and Saturday...
it was the LeRoy Citywide!!! I had a blast just checking them
out... there were more than I think I have seen before!!
Here are some of the wonderful buys I got!!

A copper boiler, $10. Three oak chairs...$2.00 for all
three... and yes... one of them is painted!! But very sturdy chairs,
no work needed on these... other than to strip the one! They are
going to find a new home at my mom's house!!

My dresser for $20.
This is the most expensive thing I bought.
It is minus the drawer...
But it will be my new bathroom vanity
when we redo our bathroom!!
I have to find my bathtub now...
Then the reno will start!!!
:D

And my last garage sale find... is this headboard!!
it is king size... but you all know where this one is headed...
right?? You guessed it... another bench in the making!!
and this is the components for this one...

four bentwood chairs, well kinda anyway...
I took the chairs apart... and what I am left with...
is this...

Here is idea 1...
space out the chair seats....
Or idea 2
place the seats really close...
What do you think???? Help!!!!
Need your imput!!!
Then I will place a piece of plywood over
the top, cut to fit... and put cushion on the seat!
Will show the finished product later! :D

I wanted to share some shots of the
gords that are growing around here...
They were growing
in the yard... this is where the gords
got run over by the mower... shed their seeds...
and decided to grow!! Now let me tell you...
when it comes to mowing... that ain't good!!
And if your hubby does the mowing...
like around here... well... lets just say...
IF I want something to continue
to grow in the yard... I have to make mowing easy
or the hubby will mow it off!! In order to
accomplish this I decided I had a ladder
lets make good use of it... I helped them
to grow up it!!! Now, we can mow sooo much easier!!
Not to mention, they don't look like everyone elses.
lol.

Here is Taryn and I project for this growing season...
she wanted to plant some different flowers this year...
they are called Heritage Moonflowers...
And they are FINALLY BLOOMING!!!
We decided we would show them to you as they bloom
each night!!!
This is how they
look when the start to put their buds out...
You can't tell it tooo well... but they have swirls
around the bud... there are five in all.

This is fuzzy... sorry all!!! It starts to
unfold... or should I say unswirl...

Still unswirling....

You can start to see where the lines
are from the swirls.....

And in the end... if you look really
close you can see the five lines...
it makes a beautiful star in the center!!
And ohhhhhh you need smell-a-vision!!!
The aroma is just wonderful!!!
As you can tell... maybe...
they are growing on the bed by the
front porch... and we can sit...
drink our evening soda, tea, coffee
while breathing in the wonderful
aroma!!!

Finally, in this same bed is what is called
an Angel Trumpet Bush!!! Here is the lovely
flower of this one!! It is in it's second year of
blooming!!!

I hope you enjoyed your trek through my week.
And hope you all come back really soon...
maybe now that school has started...
I will be able to post more than
once a week!!! You all enjoy your week...
I know I will!

Painting pics as promised!!

Hello again my dear blogging friends.
I have made a promise...
which I intend to carry out!!
Sorry it took me a day or two to get
there.

First of all here are the paintings that I
put in the County Fair...

My one of the farm to cover my AC unit...
it is done in Acrylic paints..
actually the craft paints.

The second one I entered was
the first one all of us Girls got together
to do... it is done in oils.

This one is of the forest...
we all did the same one, but they are all different.
I am soo happy to say... it looks much different with
a frame... makes it look soo much brighter!

I did get two riboons at the County fair,
one for each painting.
They were...BOTH REDS!! (second)
I am soo happy with my ribbons.
I didn't figure I would get anything!!
My friend Ali, she entered..
a Zebra painting.. got a blue!!! (first)
And one of a snow scene...got a white!! (third)

Our friend Lori...
she entered one of Sunflowers...
she got a red (second) also.

We were SOOOO TICKLED
that someone as a judge...
thought they deserved a ribbon placing!!

I have become a wee bit braver showing my paintings.
So here is the one we just finished this last
Wednesday!! All four of us did it...
and they all still look different!!
But anyway here is mine...
It is of a mountain sunset...

this is the painting after the first day of painting...

and here it is finished...
now all I have to do is find the right frame!!

I will promise to post something
every week...
It will probably be on Sunday's that I get it posted.

Wow all it is Fabulous Friday!! And I finally remember HOW to Post!!!

Sorry all that is has taken me sooooo long to post again!!
I am making you all a promise to get back to it...
I am aiming for at least once a week... and this week..
I will have two!!!
This one to let you know that I am still kicking!!
And then one later today... to show what has been
going on here! :D
I have spent some of the evening checking out other blogs...
sorry I haven't been able to get to everyone... yet!
But I am trying to spend at least one hour a day at the
computer... so in the one hour, I can either read... or write.
So today's I am trying to do a bit of both.

I have been watching the grandchildren...
Scoti went back to work...
and so Taryn and Brock have been here five days
a week. We have had ball games (Taryn's), the same
as many others I am sure.
Hubby bought both of us new bicycles,
we have been riding a least 1 mile a day...
me, I have been trying to do 2... but his legs give
out to easily. We have played some golf...
went to Pennsylvania for a friend of his,
JD and Betsy... they celebrated their 30
anniversary. (JD was hubby's navy buddy,
and they hadn't seen each other since before
the both got out...) So we drove to see them!!
Also seen two other buddies, met one of the others
wife also!! I was loads of fun!! Beautiful place to see too!
I really enjoyed the trip, even thou we drove for two
days to get there... and then stayed for day and half,
turned around and came back home.
My mom fell while watching the grands while we were
gone... she went down Scoti's steps, and got a cut above
her eye, some bruises, and so on... but NO broken bones!!
She ended up taking an ambulance ride thou.

Best friend Ali and I have been still checking
out garage sales, flea markets, and talking everyday.
She has made a couple of trips home to Indiana over the
summer. We are also still painting every week!
We both took some of our paintings to the county
fair... She got a blue and a white ribbon on two of hers!!
YEAAAA Ali!! And I got two reds on two mine!! :D
And we just finished with our county fair this last week.
Taryn joined 4-H so we had her projects of foods and
photography to do this summer. She got a blue on one
of her photos, and a white on her Pumpkin Spice
Amish Friendship Bread. And let me tell you she was
SOOO tickled to see those ribbons!! We watched
my nephew get a Champion on his breeding goat, Corbin.
(Yes she is a girl with that name. lol, who knows why
children name them what they do?? But he loves her
just the same!!) And Taryn wants a goat, and a
bucket calf next year to add to what she did this
year!! So we will have our work cut out for us.
(Scoti is not into 4-H, but Nana and Papa are,
so this is something we get to do with them!!!)
Oh yes, we will be having two weddings at
or house before the new year!!! :D
But more on this later!
So for now I will close... let you read, and then
post some pics tomorrow!!
Have a wonderful day today... and look for a new
look soon! :D
Don't forget the house rules thou!!

Whatcha Workin' On Wednesday!!

Here is one of my newest signs it was
for my daughter's boyfriend mom, as
a Thank you gift. Which she really loved!

Hello all, sorry it has been sooooooo long since my
last post!! I didn't realize how much time has passed!
The reason I haven't posted anymore about
how our painting is going... well on of the girls'
mom was hospitalized and so we all decided to
wait on her before we went on. So this is the
first night back at it! I am so looking forward
to getting this one done, and starting another.
Hopefully tonite we will finish this one, and I
will have pics to post tomorrow! School is almost
out here, so the grands will be staying with
a high school girl as their babysitter, so maybe
I can get back to blogging more often.
It just seems that I try to get up every morning...
get Taryn and Brock fed, dressed, teeth brushed,
hair combed, and off to school, and try
to keep up with Brock all day... and at 4 o'clock
or so... I am ready for bed at 5:30. Just to start
it all over again the next day! Don't get me wrong,

I love those two sweet children to pieces, I just
figured out why I had mine children when I was SOOO
much younger... SO I COULD KEEP UP!! And
where all of my energy went... I am not sure!!!
BUT I WANT IT BACK!!! lol. I will be back tomorrow...
with more and pics too!!! :D

Hope everyone has a really blessed day!! I know I have! :D

I promised some pics of the painting the girls and I am doing...

First of all I want to say, Thank you, to my girlfriends
for including me in the paintings!! I had loads of fun on
Wednesday evening, lots of laughs, some discussions...
and yes we even painted!!
The week before my friend Ali, and two other friends,
Loranne, and Mary... (these are not their names, I
haven't been given the permission to use their real
names) worked on the beginning of the painting.
Ali got me caught up last Friday... and as you see...
this is what it looked
like.... can you see the trees... and the sky??? I
sort of can...
Then after this weeks laughs... and fun...
lots of discussion on what to do next...
This is what it looks like on week 2.
Can you see the
trees and sky now??? There is more to come...
I hope my trees on the right stand out a bit
more after next week... We have to work
on flowers... some more trees... and well...
We will see next week huh? I hope you enjoyed
the peek.

Oh, I can't show you the other girls' paintings,
they all told me they NEVER show anyone other
than their husbands... after it is finished!
Maybe I can connivance them to show them
when we are done. :D

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
Mine was full of love... (grandchildren... daughters...
hubby... and other family) Loads of SUN!!!
Wind!!! and I even did my first tanning
session!!! I spent just about 8 minutes on
the table... and yeah... I got burnt!! On the
backside!! So then Brock and I went and played
in the park... and the actual sun... burnt the front
side... so I have two different tan lines.. or should
I say... BURN LINES! lol. So hopefully I can get
it to where I only have one! :D But it was a fun
day anyway!!! So I hope you enjoy your weekend
as much as I intend to... (GOING TO AN AUCTION
TOMORROW!!!) and I did this week! :D
Happy Hunting to all!!! :D
Looking forward to showing you my finds on
Monday! :D

New Job... Taking up oil painting... Classmates (Remember when)

I got a new job... or should I say...
I get to watch my grandchildren again
being as Scoti had to go back to work.
How could you not love these adorable faces?

My sweet youngun's!!

I have been working on paintings again.
Both signs and I started an oil painting!
I am excited to see how it comes out...
my friend Ali, and two other friends are
getting together every Wednesday evening
to paint, and of course to CHAT!! I will
keep you all posted on how that is going.

I have also started a page on facebook...
go figure an old lady getting started doing that...
but you know what?... I have found alot of my
family and classmates there too!
Which is kind of strange... because I have been
remembering alot of the things and people, from
the good ole days! (Boy shouldn't we take really
good care of all those memories!)
It has been really fun getting a chance to catch
up with how our lives have changed from
high school to now. There are some that I wish I
had done a much better job of keeping in contact
with over the years... instead of fading off into the
sunset... and there are others that I wasn't that close to
then... but now... I am not sure why I wasn't! I can't
get over the idea of talking to them now! I think we should
all get together other times besides our class reunions.
And really get reacquainted! I know I am up too.
On this line of thinking...
my hubby and I went to Ottawa last night
to watch a friend's (classmate) band play!
We had a blast! Got to talk to him a bit...
seen some other's that I haven't seen since
they graduated. (they were in the class ahead of me.)
Some I recognized right away... some...
the faces were familiar... but couldn't get the name
to come to light. So I had to ask!! That will really
make you feel old. ( I know I have CRN).

I hope everyone is doing well, feeling as loved as I
do! Have a wonderful day, and I will be back as often
as possible. Thanks all! :D

Fabulous Friday!! My basement is clean!!! YEAHHHHHHH!!! and not to forget...HAPPY EASTER!!

I would like to thank everyone for their
best wishes!! It made the healing much better!
:D I can finally say I have gotten some better
with my foot... I found out from
my chiro today that I have a dislocated
bone in my foot... ie... I stubbed my toe...
or should I say foot!! HE worked on it
twice today... and I finally can walk!!!
From there I went to Ottawa,
(my hometown) and called a few classmates...
trying to catch up with them to see if
they wanted to meet somewhere to visit...
but to no avail... they must all be either working...
or getting ready for the holidays! So I just drove
around town... taking some pics on my cell...
to show grands of where I lived growing up!
If I could figure out how to upload the pics
from my cell to PC... I would share those with
you too. I was kind of nice to enjoy a leisure day!

Happy Easter all!! I hope your having fun coloring eggs...
spending time with the young ones in your lives...
and getting ready for the holiday dinner!
Brock and Taryn came out Monday to make
their eggs... and we colored them...
after Brock spent an hour coloring his with
watercolor paints... he held it in both hands...
and let it drop... only to say... "Oops Na`na`
I dropped it!" "Now I have to eat it!!" Little did
he know that we had one waiting to be eaten
when we were finished! So we made deviled
eggs from them! Taryn told me a classmate
of hers, after the egg hunt... puts all of the eggs
by the front door so the Easter Bunny can
come back to get them and he makes deviled
eggs from them for Easter Dinner! So needless
to say we had to find another basket for just
this purpose! :D (Aren't they so sweet!) lol.

Oh I also started a facebook page! My daughter,
Sam, and sister-in-law seem to think I needed one...
so after both invites... I finally took the plunge!
I am surprised how fast I found friends, old classmates
that I haven't seen since we graduated... and of course
family! I have had a blast catching up with some of them.
I didn't realize how much I missed talking or seeing them
til now. So sad that we all lost touch! But I hope we all
stay in touch now! :D

Hey you all... I am sooooo happy!!
I finally got my basement cleaned!!!
And now I love it!!

Before I show you any pics... first of all I have
to tell you that it is an unfinished basement...
nothing special... except now it it cleaned...
and set up so I can make things down there!
This pic...
is where I am going to paint... it is an old
sewing machine cabinet... without the
sewing machine! I placed all of my brushes,
paper... paint palettes in the drawers...
where do I find my paints??
INSIDE where the sewing machine used to be!!

I am standing in
front of the stairs leading to the basement...
this is what you see as soon as you reach the
bottom. The grands rockers... painted to
match... (not fighting over whose is whose!)
along with the bench child's bench I made in
the background... and the other one is in pieces
behind it... waiting to be made... along with the
child's table!
My easel...
it has two paintings done by an
old friend... Ann where ever you are
now... your famous! :D I plan on using this
station to paint on my wood pieces.
And can you believe...
this hides the stuff I am storing... beds... hunting
clothes... and some other stuff.
Our guest bedroom...
lol, or should I say the bed Samantha loves
to sleep in... Nobody around!! Peace and Quiet.
(unless I am down there now)
Here is
another shot....
And last but not LEAST....
MY WORK STATION, for all that T2T!
I have finally...
gotten all my tools together in one place,
all the nails, screws, and anything else I could
dream of needing to craft the benches, shelves,
or whatever my imagination can come up with!!
As for all of this??
It is my stash of wood... and foam!
With tots stored under both!! I even
went through all of those tots!!
Now I have enough stuff for a
really good garage sale!!
Which my best friend Ali, and I
are planning on doing May 1st and 2nd!
Look out salers!! We have both managed
to clean our basements!!! So you
can only imagine the items we have
to get rid of!! :D

Wow, so much has happened since my last post! And a new look too

The first thing I need to do is make a heartfelt apology,
to all of you who have been faithful and read my every post,
and to those who have just started. Please forgive me for my
absence.
I do kind of have a good reason...
I got the crud that was going around here, and an earache.
Right as I was getting over that... I used DG oven cleaner,
like someone suggested for a paint stripper, and did it in my
basement, no windows open... and well, I forgot... I breathed!!
Well, not a good thing to do! I had to go to doc, and in the
meantime... I lost my voice, coughed ALOT! He gave me
steroids, and antibiotics. Well, for those of you that know me...
I got pneumonia... spent a couple weeks in bed. Finally to get
back on my feet. After a day or two, I was getting my
basement cleaned up... and for some reason... not sure
why, but my right foot started swelling! Went back to doc,
x-ray, cat scan, and specialist later, still don't know what
happened, but on crutches for a week. If not better then
they want an MRI. Do I sound like a walking time bomb???
Let me tell you I sure do feel like it!!!

Because of all of this, I don't have any new things to
show all of you sweet people. So I am posting
a picture of my mailbox.... I am working on it when
I can, between the weather, and health lol. So here
is the before...

will show you all the after, when I get done.
And I will show you MY CLEAN BASEMENT!!!
I got it done!! I built shelves for the wood,
made a work bench out of two doors,
Went through tots, boxes, and stuff. The kids'
stuff is ready for them to come get...
and I am loving my nice clean work space.
Hubby moved an old sewing cabinet down
there for me, and now it is my new paint station.
I can't wait to get back down the stairs and
take some pics to show you!!

I hope you all like the new face lift here too.
I will change the header pic again later. I
have some ideas about a new one. :D

This is my new saying....
House Rules

another deeply from your heart.
