A gift made for my Christmans Stocking for my swap partner :D She got it so I can post! And kitchen help???

Here is the project I have been dieing to share -
My Christmas Stocking Swap Partner got
her stocking in the mail on Monday...
so now I can share what I made for her!!
My first painting project for her
was this rooster!!
And can I tell you this is my first attempt
at painting a ROOSTER!!
I didn't think I could do it...
BUT I DID!!! :D
I spray painted the background BLACK lol..
then painted the crackle medium...
let it dry for 4 hours...
(that was 1 am when it was ready
for the coat of white) lol
Did I mention that I have a tendency
to be a night owl??!! lol
Then waited for all of it to dry...
I found a picture of the rooster I liked...
and started drawing the rooster on...
after I was satisfied with the rooster...
he got painted!!
And Voila!! Here he is!!!

Now I had to figure out what I wanted him to say!! :D
This is what won!!

I hope Sue (of The Cotton Patch)
will get many hours of enjoyment!!
And Sue dear... if you would like...
to make him look more primitive...
and sand his edges... go for it!!
I promise it won't hurt my feelings!!! :D
Now a few weeks (or maybe even a month ago)..
I said something about wanting some help
with my kitchen!!!
I would like to know what you would do
with these cabinets!!
And please don't say rip them out :(
I love my cabinets... just wish there were more of them!!

This is the south wall of upper cabinets... when I moved in the refrigerator was below them... but with the refrigerators growing as the do... it is now too tall!!! So I had to move it...
The result is to place some other cabinets below!!

This is them.... I want to paint them... to match whatever I do with the rest of them... but below the cabinets I hung some spice racks (they are meant to stand inside the pantry cabinets... I turned them sideways... put a new strip across the bottom... and I have two of them!!! ) I love it!! I need about two more for all of my spices!! I don't like the yellow peeking through on the wall...

This one is on the west wall upper... and around the window!! I don't know what to do with the valance... I loved it once... but thinking about something different now....

Here are the cabinets on the north wall... upper lol. I still love my butterfly!! I had my microwave on the shelf above the stove... but like the refrigerator... it also grew!! So it had to find a new home too... It got moved to the pie safe on the east wall... with frig... and cabinet with bookshelf on bottom... ( These are the ones I painted umbrella black... which are blue... lol... in the post I talked about showing the rest of kitchen lol) Anyway... as you can tell I took off the doors in hopes that it would make me do a better job of being tidy!! LOLOLOLOL!!! But I don't think I want everyone to know what is in my cabinets at a glance... so I kept the doors... but would lke to put punched tin lower upper ones... with glass in the ones way up high!! (maybe I can quit dusting everything!) lol.

see the little door...

that is where I took the dead space cover... and put hinges on it to hold my cutting boards...
and wire racks!!! :D

AND here is the lower cabinet that is on the west and north wall beside the stove... I most definitely HATE the avocado green!! That is still a hold over from the old kitchen 20 years ago... hubby didn't want me to paint the metal cabinet!! But now he is okay with it!! YEAHHHHH!!! I want to put some more punched tin on the two doors on the north wall... and I don't know what to do with the metal cabinet...

So now everyone has seen my kitchen... tell me what you would do???!!!! I really need some help... and ALL IDEAS are WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! So don't be shy... all wall flowers please put your two cents in too!! :D

I would also like to take this time to say THANK YOU to all who come for a visit... I love all of your comments!! I try to get to all of your blogs to let you know... but there doesn't seem to always be enough time in the days!!! So once again... THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderfully blessed day!!! I know I am!! :D

Hey everyone the next post will be # 50!!! I can't wait!!! Don't forget to come back and see what the giveaway will be!!! :D SEE you soon!!

Also don't forget to SMILE...
You will get on in return!!!

Hey Debi,
I was just on the phone with my mom this morning and we were over at Sue's blog looking at all the goodies you sent... We were trying to figure out if you yourself painted that rooster and such or if you had it special ordered! We thought you had it special ordered~ But no...You did it yourself! Great job - you sure sent Sue a nice package...Very special.

I can't believe that was your first rooster to paint...I'm not going to sand the edges...it looks great like it is. I've often wanted my cabinet doors off but I'm not brave enough. I think the tin would look good and I had a friend who put chicken wire in hers and it looked good too.
