Oh My, So Much Has Happened This Week, & I Can't Wait To Tell You!!!!

Oh My, So Much Has Happened This Week, & I Can't Wait To Tell You!!!!
The very first thing I would like to show you is...
a link to Racheal's Romantic Porch...
http://rachelgoing.blogspot.com/
she had a lovely post on her many jobs...
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It puts a whole
NEW LIGHT on the life of a mom!! ENJOY! :D

I have been a very busy beaver this last week...
to start our week off Samantha took care of the
grandkids, Scoti went to Mo. for the two days for
work... She attended some meetings, and some
meet and greets too. Samantha had Brock and
Taryn at their house trying to get them ready
for the upcoming days of School....
I can't believe that the whole summer is gone
already!!!!
On Wednesday what I was working on
was my flowerbed up around the house!!
I was putting in daylilies, and new potting soil,
then mulch.... I have daylilies growing already!!!
My Chiropractor GAVE me about 4000 bulbs,
of daylilies... so I brought them home, and started
planting them... (I got the bulbs in the beginning of
August...) Been planting little by little...
anyway I finished the bed on Wednesday!! Will show
you pics of that in a later post...
But here is the daylilies already growing!!! :D

I am sooo happy to see them!
They are yellow, a light orange, (almost apricot)
a dark orange, and red!!! Can't wait
to see them bloom next year!!

I have put a new decoration on my front door...
It was a wreath my daughter Samantha made...
with a sign I made... Love Lives Here!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! :D

I went garage saleing this last Friday and Saturday...
it was the LeRoy Citywide!!! I had a blast just checking them
out... there were more than I think I have seen before!!
Here are some of the wonderful buys I got!!

A copper boiler, $10. Three oak chairs...$2.00 for all
three... and yes... one of them is painted!! But very sturdy chairs,
no work needed on these... other than to strip the one! They are
going to find a new home at my mom's house!!

My dresser for $20.
This is the most expensive thing I bought.
It is minus the drawer...
But it will be my new bathroom vanity
when we redo our bathroom!!
I have to find my bathtub now...
Then the reno will start!!!
:D

And my last garage sale find... is this headboard!!
it is king size... but you all know where this one is headed...
right?? You guessed it... another bench in the making!!
and this is the components for this one...

four bentwood chairs, well kinda anyway...
I took the chairs apart... and what I am left with...
is this...

Here is idea 1...
space out the chair seats....
Or idea 2
place the seats really close...
What do you think???? Help!!!!
Need your imput!!!
Then I will place a piece of plywood over
the top, cut to fit... and put cushion on the seat!
Will show the finished product later! :D

I wanted to share some shots of the
gords that are growing around here...
They were growing
in the yard... this is where the gords
got run over by the mower... shed their seeds...
and decided to grow!! Now let me tell you...
when it comes to mowing... that ain't good!!
And if your hubby does the mowing...
like around here... well... lets just say...
IF I want something to continue
to grow in the yard... I have to make mowing easy
or the hubby will mow it off!! In order to
accomplish this I decided I had a ladder
lets make good use of it... I helped them
to grow up it!!! Now, we can mow sooo much easier!!
Not to mention, they don't look like everyone elses.
lol.

Here is Taryn and I project for this growing season...
she wanted to plant some different flowers this year...
they are called Heritage Moonflowers...
And they are FINALLY BLOOMING!!!
We decided we would show them to you as they bloom
each night!!!
This is how they
look when the start to put their buds out...
You can't tell it tooo well... but they have swirls
around the bud... there are five in all.

This is fuzzy... sorry all!!! It starts to
unfold... or should I say unswirl...

Still unswirling....

You can start to see where the lines
are from the swirls.....

And in the end... if you look really
close you can see the five lines...
it makes a beautiful star in the center!!
And ohhhhhh you need smell-a-vision!!!
The aroma is just wonderful!!!
As you can tell... maybe...
they are growing on the bed by the
front porch... and we can sit...
drink our evening soda, tea, coffee
while breathing in the wonderful
aroma!!!

Finally, in this same bed is what is called
an Angel Trumpet Bush!!! Here is the lovely
flower of this one!! It is in it's second year of
blooming!!!

I hope you enjoyed your trek through my week.
And hope you all come back really soon...
maybe now that school has started...
I will be able to post more than
once a week!!! You all enjoy your week...
I know I will!

Painting pics as promised!!

Hello again my dear blogging friends.
I have made a promise...
which I intend to carry out!!
Sorry it took me a day or two to get
there.

First of all here are the paintings that I
put in the County Fair...

My one of the farm to cover my AC unit...
it is done in Acrylic paints..
actually the craft paints.

The second one I entered was
the first one all of us Girls got together
to do... it is done in oils.

This one is of the forest...
we all did the same one, but they are all different.
I am soo happy to say... it looks much different with
a frame... makes it look soo much brighter!

I did get two riboons at the County fair,
one for each painting.
They were...BOTH REDS!! (second)
I am soo happy with my ribbons.
I didn't figure I would get anything!!
My friend Ali, she entered..
a Zebra painting.. got a blue!!! (first)
And one of a snow scene...got a white!! (third)

Our friend Lori...
she entered one of Sunflowers...
she got a red (second) also.

We were SOOOO TICKLED
that someone as a judge...
thought they deserved a ribbon placing!!

I have become a wee bit braver showing my paintings.
So here is the one we just finished this last
Wednesday!! All four of us did it...
and they all still look different!!
But anyway here is mine...
It is of a mountain sunset...

this is the painting after the first day of painting...

and here it is finished...
now all I have to do is find the right frame!!

I will promise to post something
every week...
It will probably be on Sunday's that I get it posted.

Wow all it is Fabulous Friday!! And I finally remember HOW to Post!!!

Sorry all that is has taken me sooooo long to post again!!
I am making you all a promise to get back to it...
I am aiming for at least once a week... and this week..
I will have two!!!
This one to let you know that I am still kicking!!
And then one later today... to show what has been
going on here! :D
I have spent some of the evening checking out other blogs...
sorry I haven't been able to get to everyone... yet!
But I am trying to spend at least one hour a day at the
computer... so in the one hour, I can either read... or write.
So today's I am trying to do a bit of both.

I have been watching the grandchildren...
Scoti went back to work...
and so Taryn and Brock have been here five days
a week. We have had ball games (Taryn's), the same
as many others I am sure.
Hubby bought both of us new bicycles,
we have been riding a least 1 mile a day...
me, I have been trying to do 2... but his legs give
out to easily. We have played some golf...
went to Pennsylvania for a friend of his,
JD and Betsy... they celebrated their 30
anniversary. (JD was hubby's navy buddy,
and they hadn't seen each other since before
the both got out...) So we drove to see them!!
Also seen two other buddies, met one of the others
wife also!! I was loads of fun!! Beautiful place to see too!
I really enjoyed the trip, even thou we drove for two
days to get there... and then stayed for day and half,
turned around and came back home.
My mom fell while watching the grands while we were
gone... she went down Scoti's steps, and got a cut above
her eye, some bruises, and so on... but NO broken bones!!
She ended up taking an ambulance ride thou.

Best friend Ali and I have been still checking
out garage sales, flea markets, and talking everyday.
She has made a couple of trips home to Indiana over the
summer. We are also still painting every week!
We both took some of our paintings to the county
fair... She got a blue and a white ribbon on two of hers!!
YEAAAA Ali!! And I got two reds on two mine!! :D
And we just finished with our county fair this last week.
Taryn joined 4-H so we had her projects of foods and
photography to do this summer. She got a blue on one
of her photos, and a white on her Pumpkin Spice
Amish Friendship Bread. And let me tell you she was
SOOO tickled to see those ribbons!! We watched
my nephew get a Champion on his breeding goat, Corbin.
(Yes she is a girl with that name. lol, who knows why
children name them what they do?? But he loves her
just the same!!) And Taryn wants a goat, and a
bucket calf next year to add to what she did this
year!! So we will have our work cut out for us.
(Scoti is not into 4-H, but Nana and Papa are,
so this is something we get to do with them!!!)
Oh yes, we will be having two weddings at
or house before the new year!!! :D
But more on this later!
So for now I will close... let you read, and then
post some pics tomorrow!!
Have a wonderful day today... and look for a new
look soon! :D
Don't forget the house rules thou!!
